An important mantel clock representing a Romain warrior in bronze with dark green patination.  Faithful to the classic tradition, the sculptor represented a nude warrior wearing the Romain helmet and a drapery covering his right shoulder and one of his legs only. The gilt bronze concave dial with Roman numerals for hours, chiselled with stylized palmette and lily flowers. The clock rests on a naturalist bronze base, a high Siena marble plinth.  Circa.1820
