2012 has flown by quicker than I can say chocolate crinkle cookies! What a year it has been and I can only say I have been very blessed. I'm finally a little more settled in good ol' Melbourne even though I'm missing life in the UK. Especially so during Christmas time...Christmas carols do not quite…
A cookie recipe given to me by my husband's Polish grandma (busia) that I have to double because they fly off the plate -- one recipe for them and one for me! My favorite Solo filling is Apricot, but any are wonderful. The pronounciation is Kolatchkie, but I've never seen it spelled any other way than Kolacky! (Dough can be refrigerated and cookies frozen after making.)
When I set out to make rhubarb curd, I imagined a jar full of shockingly pink spread to dollop on toast, scones, and ice cream. As it turns out, my eggs were so deep yellow in color that the final result looked more like traditional lemon than rhubarb. A bit disappointing, yes, but the flavor was so lovely that I quickly rebounded from this minor misfortune.
