The first page on a project of Rafael Grampa. I decided to show this piece because I believe it shows my design style. The images on the left hand side are examples of grampa's work, but the work on the right hand side is work produced by me. The superman was actually produced using the paintbrush tool, as when I first started using illustrator I wasn't sure of the line tool (I am now) and is done in a sketchy manner. The title is a clipping mask of part of grampa's work.
Digital Painting of Taylor Swift, started off with a trace of taylor, and made it black and white.. then selected the tones and used the paintbrush and smudge tool to create a real life like digital painting of one of my favourite artists.Made in illustrator.
This was a progressive piece, starting out with a copy of Grampa's work, which I copied by drawing by hand and using illustrator. I then decided to make a response tothis piece using illustrator using a photo of Taylor Swift as a guideline,I created a heroine like image of Taylor Swift in the style of grampa. I like this image because it's quite simple but the outcome is still very good.
I really like Saul Bass' work as its in a simple manner but it shows a strong message. I started off by copying a piece of his work "The Human Factor" and because I liked the outcome I decided to create my own response. I wanted to modernise what he had created so I decided to create an iPhone, and changed the line type to make it look disconnected. I chose a bright colour to contrast the message and I believe the general idea works very well.
