Cabernet Franc is a red wine grape that is used for both blending and as a single varietal wine. MostIy grown in France (especially the Loire Valley), it is also produced in Italy, Hungary, Canada and the United States. Its flavor and aromas bring to mind raspberries, black currants, violets and grapite. It can also have a vegetal aspect that ranges from leafy to green bell peppers. Cabernet Franc is one of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, when it was crossed with Sauvignon Blanc.

Cabernet Franc is probably my very favorite red grape. I am not sure how it happened but one day I tasted a Cabernet Franc and fell in LOVE with him.
