Allied leaders - Ioannis Metaxas (12 April 1871 – 29 January 1941) was a Greek general and politician, serving as Prime Minister of Greece from 1936 until his death in 1941. He governed constitutionally for the first four months of his tenure, and thereafter as the strongman of the 4th of August Regime.

12 Jul 45: The British honor Soviet General Georgy Zhukov in a ceremony at the Brandenburg Gate for having planted the flag of victory over Berlin. Zhukov and three other Soviet generals are presented with the sash of the Knight Grand Cross of The Most Honourable Order of the Bath by Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery.
