Happy 101st Birthday Colt M1911

The first (50) Colt M1911 pistols were shipped 4 January 1912. Here are a couple photos of a pistol owned by a friend that was in that first shipment. The sights, barrel, magazine and dimpled mag lock have been replaced with later parts, but it's still a rather impressive pistol. This pistol had reportedly been used at Camp Perry some 50 years ago, when his father acquired it. That may explain some of the changed parts, especially the sights and barrel.
