Genyornis is our last Dromornithid known from the Lancefield Bone Bed and Cuddle Springs of Australia, living about 0.126 and 0.0 million years ago, from the Tarantian of the Pleistocene to the Holocene. It was a more heavily built Dromornithid, at about 2 to 2.5 meters in height. It is known from the best material of any Dromornithid, which is really saying something as we don’t know very much about it Australian Wildlife, Mundo Animal, Extinction, Jurassic Park, Fossils, Animals Beautiful, Fauna

Quercymegapodius, the original Quercymegapodid, is also the earliest known of the birds from this group, living about 37 million years ago, in the Priabonian age of the Eocene of the Paleogene, and known from the Quercy Fissure Formation of France. Being the earliest, it thus showcases the distinct characteristics of the Quercymegapodids, namely the slender wing fingers that perhaps indicates a reduction in the wing muscles farther away from the body Alien Planet, Bird Wings, Ice Age, Prehistoric Animals, Big Bird, Far Away
