Fish have only a small amount of Omega-7. This means that it must be heavily processed in order to isolate the Omega-7. This heavy processing makes the oil unstable. Fish oil tastes and smells bad because it goes rancid easily (yuck). There aren't any other beneficial nutrients in Omega-7 fish products.
There have been claims that palmitic acid in sea buckthorn oil “negates the benefits” of Omega 7. We have been making sea buckthorn products for over twenty years and this threw us for a loop. While isolated palmitic acid could be unhealthy, the only place you will find it is in a lab. Other nutrients in sea buckthorn oil, omega 9 or oleic acid to be exact, can neutralize an overabundance of palmitic acid.
Many customers buy sea buckthorn oils for the first time online. If you aren't sure what the oil is supposed to look like, you could get duped with a subpar oil! Sea buckthorn seed oil should be a bright yellow color. It does vary in darkness but should always be a shade of bright yellow. It has a nutty, earthy flavor and scent. This oil contains Omegas 3,6 & 9 which have a ton of health and beauty benefits.
This is what sea buckthorn berry oil looks like. It's made from the bright orange fruit of the seabuckthorn tree- that's why it's so well, orange! It can vary in shade to a dark red but real sea buckthorn berry should look close to the picture. This oil contains omegas 7,6 & 9. Omega 7 provides cellular health and moisture. If you buy a high quality oil (like ours) you are able to take the oil as an oral supplement or use it topically.”
