Apple Roses...this recipe is written in Romanian...translated to: 1 pound pastry dough, 3 apples (sliced thin), 6 T sugar, 2 T cinnamon, juice of 1/2 lemon.  The apples are boiled in water and lemon juice until pliable.  I don't speak Romanian, but used a translater to help.  Will be trying this...so pretty!

Cenci  1  c Flour 3 Tbsp Melted Butter 2 Tbsp Sugar 1 Egg 2 Tbsp Wine or Rum 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Pinch of Salt Oil For Deep Frying Confectioners Sugar  In bowl place  flour, slowly add other ingredients mixing well. Form dough and lightly knead for a minute or two. Cover with plastic, let sit for  hour. Roll out onto a lightly floured surface until very thin. Cut into thin strips and gently tie a knot. Fry until golden. Lightly dust with confectioner's sugar.
