This hand built burnished earthenware pot by Tina Vlassopulos is entitled 'unravelling'. This piece looks different from every angle. Move a few inches and it changes again! Tina has mixed an oxide into the clay to give it a buff colour, she then constructed the pot using coils of the clay. Once fired Tina has hand burnished the pot giving the it a silk-like sheen. The direction of her stroke whilst burnishing gives the pot a sandstone-like grain.
