SS Min undergoing sea trials 1922. Built by John Readhead & Sons in their West Yard South Shields for Mercantile SS Co Ltd(E Hain & Sons), St Ives. This 4694 grt Cargo Ship was completed in July '22. 400ft long, 53ft beam & 26ft draught. She was powered by a triple cylinder steam expansion engine gave 475 nhp to her single screw . Transferred to Hain SS Co Ltd in '23. Renamed SS Treminnard in 36. Sank on 02/08/42 after being torpedoed by U160 whilst in ballast from Alexandria to Trinidad.

MV City of Auckland a refrigerated cargo ship that served most of her life on the MANZ route(Montreal to Australia & New Zealand). Built by Vickers-Armstrongs(Shipbuilders) for Ellerman Line & completed Feb '58. 10,832dwt. 507ft long, 66ft beam & 28ft draught. Her Oil engine 2SCSA, Doxford 6 cylinders produced 8000Bhp to turn her single screw for a speed of 16kn. Sold in '78 to Gulf Shipping & renamed Gulf Falcon. Broken up in July '83 by SS Jain & Co of Bombay

SS Tabaristan( shown here c.1970 as SS Hai Ning). Built by John Readhead & Sons for the Strick Line & completed in June '47. She was 7173 grt, 458ft long, 59ft beam and 29.1/2 draught. Powered by a T3cyl steam engine and LP turbine her single screw could give a speed of 12.5kts. Sold to Asimi Maritine Co & renamed SS St.Grigorius in '68, she was almost immediately resold to Southern Shipping & Enterprise of Hong Kong & renamed SS Hai Ning. Scrspped 16/11/71.

Powered by a 6 cylinder B&W 2SCSA oil engine(built  by JG Kincaid & Co, Glasgow) giving 8000bhp to a single screw to give 15knots. '72 to Glen Line & renamed Dardanus. Same year sold to Nan Yang Shipping Macao, registered in Mogadishu & renamed Kiago. Sold agian in '80. Scrapped in 82
