Ιστορία (ΚΤ)
Sappho was a Greek lyric poet, born on the island of Lesbos. The Alexandrians included her in the list of nine lyric poets. Her birth was sometime between 630 and 612 BC, and it is said that she died around 570 BC, but little is known for certain about her life. The bulk of her poetry, which was well-known and greatly admired throughout antiquity, has been lost, but her immense reputation has endured through surviving fragments.

Lycurgus of Sparta
Lycurgus. The 'father of Sparta'. He was the legendary lawgiver of Sparta, who established the military-oriented reformation of Spartan society. All his reforms were directed towards the three Spartan virtues: equality, military fitness, and austerity. It is not clear if this Lycurgus was an actual historical figure; however, many ancient historians believed he was responsible for the communalistic and militaristic reforms that transformed Spartan society, most notably the Great Rhetra.

Nikos Skalkottas (1904 - 1949): a Greek composer of 20th-century classical music. A member of the Second Viennese School, he drew his influences from both the classical repertoire and the Greek tradition. The most striking example of his commitment to Greek folk music is the series of 36 Greek Dances composed for orchestra, partly based on genuine Greek folk themes and partly on material of Skalkottas's own composition in folk style.
