Dear Human has come up with a way to turn recycled paper into functional furniture, lighting, and tiles in a creative exploration called Paperscapes.
Here is an artist named Schmulb who makes paper mache art-furniture: www.schmulb.com Why paper mache and not concrete or stucco? The simple answer is: cheap, light, easy to make, not permanent. A concrete shelf built into a wall is a permanent decision. Don’t like your paper mache shelving unit? Break it up, haul it outside, and compost it or burn it!
