Corinthia Perfecture of Greece

Corinthia borders on Achaea to the west and southwest, the Gulf of Corinth and Attica to the north, the Saronic Gulf to the east, Argolis to the south and Arcadia to the southwest. The Corinth Canal, carrying ship traffic between the Ionian and the Aegean seas, is about 4 km east of Corinth, cutting through the Isthmus of Corinth. (more on Wikipedia)

The chapel of St. Fanourios (Paliomonastiro) on the islet of the lake Doxa, which was the first monastery of the valley. The Byzantine style and was built in the tradition, a monk from the province of Kalavryta in the 14th century. But the 17th century was abandoned when the lake flooded the entire plain of Feneos and forced the monks to flee higher and to build the new monastery of St. George.

Lake Doxa (Greek: Λίμνη Δόξα Limni Doxa) is an artificial lake or reservoir at an elevation of 900 m. Located in west Feneos in Corinthia only 2 km east of the Achaia and Arcadia prefectural boundaries. Construction was completed in the late 1990s and occurred on the Doxa (Δόξα) stream and a branch which flows in the area and empties only to the fields.
