Satin - this gorgeous dress is made of satin, almost definitely silk satin charmeuse. Satin, however is not a fabric, it is a weave. Satin is created by weft yarns which float over 4 or more warp yarns, resulting in the signature sheen associated with satin. Silk and synthetic fibers will create much shinier satins than say cotton (which can be, and is, used in satin weaves), and is usually what people are referring to when they say satin, though sometimes they really just mean to say silk.
